Do you pay by credit card or PayPal? Or have you joined the latest trend of those paying with the virtual currency bitcoin? At Destinia, we have followed the path of our travellers along 2014 in function of their preferred form of payment and here is a glimpse at their profiles.

Just one hint, the traveller who spends the most is the traveller who pays by bank transfer. “The majority of purchases by bank transfer are for long haul flights, where often the circumstances occur that the reservation total is more than one´s credit card limit,” explains Destinia´s Finance Director Iago Fernandez.

It is also quite interesting that the average amount spent by a traveller paying with bitcoin (470€) is 49% more than the average amount spent by those who opt for paying by credit card (315€), which without a doubt is the most common form of payment (chosen by 90% of travellers).
