In addition to Bitcoin, users can now pay with Bitcoin Cash, Eros, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dash

Destinia now offers users the option of paying for their hotel reservations, flights, travel packages and train tickets with six different cryptocurrencies. In addition to making payments in Bitcoin, which the company has been accepting since 2014, it is now possible to pay with Bitcoin Cash, Eros, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dash.
Since becoming the first European travel agency to accept payments in Bitcoin, Destinia has continued working to expand payment options and facilitate the process enabling clients to use their preferred payment methods. To this end, in July of this year, the company began testing a payment platform that would include new cryptocurrency wallets. The platform has since been implemented and is now fully operational.

‘Destinia’s philosophy is to open as many doors as we can, to offer a variety of payment options to facilitate the traveller’s experience. In this way, we expand our reach and adapt to the realities of today’s world’, indicates Cristina Verdi, the person responsible for payment methods and cash management.
This is a logical next step in Destinia’s ongoing strategy of using technological developments to serve the needs of users. And the results are clear: in 2018, 7.23 percent of Destinia’s clients chose to pay for their purchases with Bitcoin.

Now, users of the Destinia website can choose the cryptocurrency the prices will be displayed in or they can choose their preferred cryptocurrency when finalising the transaction.
‘With our new partner, clients can use various wallets to finalise their purchase and select the cryptocurrency they prefer. This way, we offer a process that’s quick, simple and secure—fundamental features for any eCommerce user’, adds Verdi.

Destinia, a pioneer in payment method innovation
In January of 2014, Destinia became the first European online travel agency to allow payments with Bitcoin, offering clients the use of this method to book and pay for all of the company’s products.

Since then, the brand has not stopped expanding its payment options in order to facilitate its clients’ transactions. To date, Destinia accepts payments through traditional methods, including credit and debit cards, wire transfers, direct deposits and instalment plans, as well as innovative new methods, including cryptocurrency, PayPal, Amazon Pay, immediate financing through Aplázame and payments made through the Bizum mobile app.
