Having a suitcase with the correct dimensions, that doesn\u2019t exceed the weight limit permitted and that fits everything you want to take with you can seem like a real mission impossible. So many limitations make for a complicated task, especially if you are not familiar with the each airline\u2019s rules and regulations with regard to travelling with <strong>carry-on luggage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So, until airlines standardize both the size and weight limitations for carry-on luggage \u2013 we have compiled a list of size and weight allowances for some of our most travelled airlines, so you can focus on getting to the gate on time and <a href=\"https:\/\/vuelos.destinia.com\/\">enjoying your flight<\/a>. (For an extensive list of airlines, see the <a href=\"http:\/\/carryonguy.com\/airline-baggage-rules\/\">CarryOnGuy<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: Following the list, discover our comparative infographic about the world\u2019s best commercial airlines. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Air Europa<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0One piece of carry-on luggage is permitted on short and medium distance flights.On long distance flights and when travelling in business class, two pieces of carry-on luggage are allowed with a <strong>maximum total weight limit of 18kg<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0The <strong>same size limitations<\/strong> are applicable for all classes of service.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0Business class passengers can travel with up to 14kg on short and medium distance flights, 4kg more than in economy class.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0Travellers are allowed to fly with <strong>personal items<\/strong>, such as cameras, books and <strong>baby food<\/strong>, to be used during the flight.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Air France<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0Only <strong>one piece of carry-on luggage is permitted per person per flight<\/strong> in Economy class. For long distance flights with fares in <em>Premium Economy<\/em>, two pieces of carry-on luggage are allowed, likewise for <em>Business <\/em>and <em>Premiere<\/em> fares.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0The same dimensions are required for all carry-on luggage, regardless of the class of service.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0For\u00a0<em>Economy<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Premium Economy<\/em>\u00a0fares, there are restricted weight limits \u2013 see the infographic below \u2013 however <em>Business<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0<em>Premiere <\/em>fare travellers are allowed two pieces of carry-on luggage, each weighing a maximum of 18kg.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0Garment bags are considered hand luggage, however <strong>laptop computers or cameras <\/strong>are not counted as personal items.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> British Airways<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>One piece of carry-on luggage per passenger<\/strong> is allowed, children and adults alike, plus one additional personal item.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0Personal items cannot exceed the dimensions\u00a0<strong>45 cm x 36 cm x 20 cm.<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0The same weight limitations apply to all cabins of service.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0It is not permitted to travel with additional personal items, apart from those mentioned above, and <strong>duty free products<\/strong> are considered hand luggage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Easyjet<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>One piece of carry-on luggage per passenger<\/strong> is allowed, including articles such as laptop computers, any type of purse or bag, as well as garment bags.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0In addition to the first carry-on item, personal items are allowed that have <strong>dimensions less than 56cm x 45 cm x 25 cm<\/strong>, however should the flight be full, Easyjet cannot ensure these items will be able to travel in the cabin and may need to be checked.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0The only restriction is related to size, as carry-on luggage needs to fit within the airline\u2019s overhead compartment baggage sizer.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0Passengers are allowed to travel with coats, orthopaedic items and one bag of <strong>Duty Free purchases.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/que-se-siente-al-viajar-en-un-a380-de-emirates\"><strong>Emirates Airlines<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0For Economy class fares, <strong>one piece of hand luggage is allowed<\/strong>. In First Class and Business, passengers are allowed two pieces of carry-on luggage.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0Passengers travelling to India are only allowed to carry on luggage within the dimensions 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0All classes of service have the <strong>same weight limitations applied<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0There is no problem to travel on board with Duty Free items purchased at the airport, keeping in mind the liquid travel regulations set by each country.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Iberia<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0In economy class, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/en\/how-to-pack-well-for-your-holiday-really\">only one piece of carry-on luggage per passenger is allowed<\/a>. In Business class, two pieces of carry-on luggage per passenger are allowed.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0If the size limits surpass the established dimensions, even if due to outside pockets, handles or wheels on the suitcase, the bag must be checked.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0The only restriction is related to size, as carry-on luggage needs to fit within the airport\u2019s over-head compartment baggage sizer.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0One additional personal item is allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Lufthansa<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>One piece of carry-on luggage per passenger<\/strong> is allowed in<em> Economy Class<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Premium Economy Class<\/em>. For fares in\u00a0<em>Business Class<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>First Class,<\/em>\u00a0passengers are allowed two pieces of carry-on luggage.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0All travel classes are subject to the same size limitations. In the case of garment bags, dimensions should not exceed 57 cm x 54 cm x 15 cm.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0All classes of service have the <strong>same weight limitations applied<\/strong><strong>.<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>A second personal item is permitted<\/strong> within the dimensions 30 cm x 40 cm x 10 cm. Passengers may also carry on child seats and orthopaedic devices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Qatar Airways<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0In\u00a0<em>Economy Class<\/em>\u00a0one piece of carry-on luggage is allowed and passengers travelling in <em>First<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Business Class<\/em>\u00a0are allowed two pieces of carry-on luggage.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>All travel classes <\/strong> have the same size limitations.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0Maximum weight permitted in <em>First<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Business Class<\/em> is 15 kg, more than double of what is allowed in Economy Class.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0It is permitted to travel onboard with <strong>one additional personal item<\/strong>, such as cameras, orthopaedic devices, children\u2019s articles or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Duty-free_shop\">Duty Free<\/a> purchases.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> Ryanair<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Two<\/strong> <strong>pieces of carry-on luggage are allowed<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0The second piece of hand luggage should be smaller than the main item.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0Even though the second item is not subject to weight restrictions, hand luggage weight should not be excessive, due to its reduced size.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0An <strong>additional bag up to 5kg is allowed for baby items<\/strong>, in addition to the aforementioned hand luggage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/vueling-sera-la-primera-aerolinea-de-bajo-coste-que-vuela-a-tenerife\"><strong>Vueling\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Quantity:<\/strong>\u00a0One piece of carry-on luggage per passenger is allowed.<br \/>\n<strong>Size:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>All classes of service<\/strong> have the same size limitations; however passengers with the<em> Excellence<\/em> fare are guaranteed space in the cabin for their carry-on luggage.<br \/>\n<strong>Weight limit:<\/strong>\u00a0All fares have the <strong>same weight limits applied<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>with the exception of the <em>Excellence<\/em>\u00a0fare, where 14 kg are allowed.<br \/>\n<strong>Other factors:<\/strong>\u00a0Additional personal items are not permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For some tips on packing, check out our infographic <a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/en\/how-to-pack-well-for-your-holiday-really\">How to Pack the Perfect Suitcase<\/a>.
