Spain\u2019s share of the company\u2019s reservations has dropped from 87% in 2013 to 75% in 2014, due to the pull of international markets. In terms of revenue, foreign sales represented 30% of the total as compared to 17% for the previous year. \u2018Destinia sells in 25 countries, and our website has been translated into 32 languages, including Arabic, Farsi, Japanese and Finnish. This trend is unstoppable\u2019, asserts <strong>Destinia Sales Director M\u00f3nica Prieto. <\/strong>The company is one of the top five online agencies in Spain.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>International markets account for 30% of Destinia\u2019s sales in 2014<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Passengers travelling with children grow by 17%, and flight+hotel is the star product with reservations climbing by 21%<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>London, the trendiest European city<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Clients use multiple devices<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Destinia has focused its expansion efforts on the <strong>Middle East,<\/strong> and a year has now passed since the opening of its offices in Dubai. \u2018The results have exceeded our expectations\u2019, affirms the Sales Director. <strong>France<\/strong> remains the leading foreign market, both in number of reservations (+17%) and total revenue (+24%), while <strong>British<\/strong> reservations have increased six-fold; <strong>Russian<\/strong> reservations, five-fold and reservations from the <strong>USA<\/strong>, three-fold.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/ventas-MENA_ENG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14001\" src=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/ventas-MENA_ENG.jpg\" alt=\"ventas MENA_ENG\" width=\"277\" height=\"104\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although Destinia is increasingly less dependent on domestic sales, <strong>Spain<\/strong> continues to be its core market. In 2014, national tourism also yielded positive results, as there was an increase in both the number of reservations (+6%) and the purchase price (+7%), which rose to an average of \u20ac290. \u201cAfter several years of staying home, Spaniards have begun travelling again, and when they do, they\u2019re spending more\u201d, affirms Prieto.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/reserva_media_producto-ENG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14002\" src=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/reserva_media_producto-ENG.jpg\" alt=\"reserva_media_producto ENG\" width=\"228\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a>Flight+hotel, the star product<\/strong><br \/>\nThe highest-performing products have been <strong>flights<\/strong> and <strong>flight+hotel,<\/strong> exhibiting increases in reservations of 30% and 21%, respectively. \u2018The success of this product is due to clients\u2019 growing desire to custom combine their travel arrangements. There has been an irrepressible trend toward dynamic packages, which we are working to improve\u2019, explains M\u00f3nica Prieto. <strong>Hotels,<\/strong> another product that has enjoyed double-digit growth, have exhibited a 9% increase in the average reservation price, reaching \u20ac280.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best-selling destinations<br \/>\nMadrid<\/strong> is once again the top destination in Spain, followed by <strong>Benidorm,<\/strong> which retains its second-place status for another year. <strong>London<\/strong> was the trendiest city in 2014. In the flight+hotel category, the most popular destinations were the <strong>Balearic <\/strong>and <strong>Canary Islands,<\/strong> with six locations among the top 10.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/top-destinis_ENG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14003 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/top-destinis_ENG.jpg\" alt=\"top destinis_ENG\" width=\"780\" height=\"266\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A more family-oriented traveller<\/strong><br \/>\nTravellers with children and babies grew by 17% in 2014, which is evidence that our clients are increasingly family-oriented. The share of children has been growing over the past three years, representing 11% of all travellers.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/viajero-familiar-ENG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14004\" src=\"https:\/\/blogdestinia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/viajero-familiar-ENG.jpg\" alt=\"viajero familiar ENG\" width=\"1001\" height=\"417\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Clients use multiple devices<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although mobile devices have been gaining prominence, <strong>desktop<\/strong> computers still predominate, representing 64% of all traffic in comparison with 28% via mobile phones. Portugal leads in web traffic with 76%.<\/p>\n<p>However, in countries in the MENA area, <strong>mobile phone use<\/strong> prevails (50%). Following closely behind is the US market (48% of traffic).<\/p>\n<p>The percentage of visits to the online agency via <strong>tablets<\/strong> is still relatively small (8%).
